Alicia Malone (born on September 4, 1981) [1] is a film Journalist, Television host, producer, writer and editor. A movie junkie, especially in the Independent scene, she is known for her series Malone's Movie Minute.
Biography
Career
The day after graduating high school, Malone moved to to Sydney and got a job at a video store. There, she advised customers of which movies to watch, regardless of whether they wanted advice. [4]
After her stint at the video store, she worked at a television station. She stayed with them for 6 years, fulfilling various roles. [4]
After living in Sydney, she moved to Los Angeles.
She was a host, producer and editor for Movie Network Channels where she fronted several movie-centric shows, including Movie Juice and Premiere, and hosted live red carpet events for the American Film Institute Awards and Tropfest Short Film Festival.
She became a correspondent with American networks such as MTV, Fandango, AMC Movie Talk, IGN, and Australian networks such as FILMINK Magazine
She has conducted interviews with the biggest names in Hollywood such as Tom Cruise, Ryan Reynolds, Jake Gyllenhaal, Ryan Gosling, and more.
In 2016, Alicia became a host for FilmStruck - the subscription streaming service by Turner Classic Movies and The Criterion Collection. Since January 2018, she has been a TV host at Turner Broadcasting System.[18]

On August 15, 2017, Malone published her book, Backwards and in Heels: The Past, Present And Future of Women Working in Film. [10] In it, she focuses on telling the stories and highlighting the accomplishments of women who made their legacy in Hollywood. These include the first female directors, movie stars, and modern-day activists.
In addition, Backwards and in Heels includes exclusive interviews with influential women and men working in Hollywood today, such as Geena Davis, J.J. Abrams, Ava DuVernay, Octavia Spencer, America Ferrera, Paul Feig, and Todd Fisher. [10]
