Early Life and Education
Alexi McCammond is a native of Rockford, Illinois, Alexi McCammond graduated from Guilford High School in 2011 and went on to attend the University of Chicago, from which she graduated in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Romance Languages and Literature. Alexi McCammond attended College on a $60,000 scholarship that covered most expenses. [1] [8]
At school, Alexi was the Event Director and Alumnae Outreach Chair of Kappa Alpha Theta in 2014, National QuestBridge Scholar from 2011 - 2015 and S.I. Newhouse Fellow from 2015 - 201616. Before graduating, Alexi spent a few months working at The Gate Undergraduate Review and the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
Career
Following an internship at Cosmopolitan, McCammond joined Bustle as a news and politics writer in early 2016 and was ultimately promoted to Associate News Editor. While working at Bustle, she spearheaded their “Love, Factually” video series. McCammond left Bustle and joined the Staff of Axios in early 2017. Around that time she also worked as a freelance political editor at Sarasota Herald-Tribune. [1][26]
McCammond has also been a guest commentator on television outlets including Fox Business Network, Fox News Channel, KGO Radio, WNYC’S Political Party with Keli Goff, WHDT World News, WJLA and MSNBC. [1] [12] [33]
In 2019, McCammond recieved a reward for emerging journalism from the National Association of Black Journalists. The NABJ press release for award gave McCammond high praise: [32]

Controversies
In 2016, McCammon was working for Bustle and had a brief Encounter with Donald Trump that went viral. She asked him "How would you respond to young women who are nervous about voting for you?" to which he replied by grabbing her wrist and telling her to put her phone down. [25]
On November 19, McCammond was put in the spotlight when she shared that ESPN analyst Charles Barkley told her that he “didn’t” hit women, but if he “did,” he would hit her. Barkley dismissed her objections to his Statement by telling her "she couldn't take a joke". After being put on blast, Charles Barkley released an apology: [31]
“My comment was inappropriate and unacceptable.
It was an attempted joke that wasn’t funny at all.
There’s no excuse for it and I apologize.”
MacCammond did not accept Barkley's apology and responded with:
"The comments Charles Barkley made to me are not acceptable. Threats of violence are not a joke, & no person deserves to be hit or threatened like that. Silence only allows the culture of misogyny to fester. And those kinds of comments don’t merit off-the-record protections."
Writing About Being Drugged
Alexi McCammond was drugged in 2014 and turned the unfortunate incident into an opportunity to educate the Public and share her Experience. She wrote an article for Cosmopolitan called "Here's What Happened the Night I Was Drugged". Sadly, in April of 2019 Alexi was drugged again, this time at the St. Regis hotel in Washington, D.C.. Personal Life

Alexi McCammond grew up with her mom, Shelli McCammond McGinley, and kin Braxton and Aubyn in Chicago, Illinois.
Shellis the proprietor of Rockford's roya Family All Stars, a cheer and tumbling rec center.
Her sister, Aubyn, is an enlisted nurture.

She is the glad for proprietor of a scaled down Schnauzer named Marlin.

In June 2020, McCammond got drawn in with her sweetheart Matt Kuncman.
She posted a photograph on Instagram with an inscription: "He kidded about our wedding on the fourth date, however we both knew continuously that we were in a difficult situation.
