From 2002 to 2008, he ran a design and consulting company called IDEO in Germany.^[2]In 2008, he founded and became Managing Director of a strategic creative consultancy firm called Gravity GmbH.^[2]

In 2012, Grots founded and became the Managing Director of Bashiru, a company that specifically helps companies identify and address opportunities and growth potential through innovation by applying design thinking.^[2]

In 2014, Grots founded ProGlove, a company that develops smart gloves.^[4]

Since March 2018, Grots has been the Head of Design at Infinite Alpha, a blockchain start-up in the financial services industry that aims to provide investors with a new way of generating alpha using an AI-powered cryptocurrency /digital asset trading ecosystem.^[2]
