Alexander Edwards (born September 21, 1987) is a music executive, currently working for Def Jam Recordings, owned by Universal Music Group (UMG).

He is the Vice President of the Artists and Repertoire (A&R) division of ‘Def Jam Recordings.’ ^[1]

He is also well known as the boyfriend of American famous model and actress Amber Rose.^[2]

Alexander Edwards was born on September 21, 1987 and brought up in Oakland, California, United States. He grew up watching the videos of famous American rapper Tupac Shakur, this sparked an interest in him towards rap and hip hop.^[1]

He started his rap career by joining various musical groups, including ‘The A'z,’ which was formerly known as ‘4 Deep.’

Starting off as a rapper, Alexander Edwards worked his way up in the Bay Area rap scene, expanding his inner circle in the process.

He even became close friends with world-renowned rapper Tyga, which enabled him to collaborate with Tyga and other popular musicians.

Edwards collaborated with Tyga regularly, which led to release of songs, such as ‘Don't C Me Comin,’ ‘Good or Bad,’ and ‘Taste.’

In 2016, he worked as a songwriter for Tyga’s standalone single ‘Cash Money .’ While he was a rapper Edwards had his own record label called ‘Gloryus.’ ^[1]

Gloryus started as just a recording company, then expanded into a huge organization with multiple businesses, including a clothing line.

Edwards joined the famous record label ‘Def Jam Recordings’ in 2018, eventually becoming the Vice President of the Artists and repertoire (A&R) division of ‘Def Jam Recordings.’

He is also involved with ‘Last Kings Records,’ an independent record label founded by Tyga and Deezy.

He has worked with various artists including LL Cool J, Public Enemy, Jay-Z, Beastie Boys, Nas, Mariah Carey, Kanye West, Rihanna, DMX, Rick Ross, and Frank Ocean.^[1]

Alexander met Amber Rose in 2015 through a mutual friend, but they did not start dating right away.

It took them about three years before showing interest towards each other.

During the 4th annual ‘SlutWalk,’ which is a transnational movement, Edwards and Rose were seen publicly displaying their affection. ^[1]

They went to their respective social media pages to inform people about their relationship.

Edwards’ popularity rose the moment he went public about his relationship, due to Rose’s popularity.

Before his relationship with Rose, she was dating professional basketball player Monte Morris.

Alexander welcomed his first child with Amber Rose in October 2019.

Amber delivered a baby boy called Slash Electric Alexander Edwards on October 10, 2019.

Though Alex has a stepson Sebastian Taylor Thomaz from Amber previous relationship with popular American rapper and singer Wiz Khalifa. Alexander has been a supporting father, loving both his sons unconditionally.

Edwards showed his love for his kids by getting new tats in tribute to the young boys, just days after Amber unveiled the outstanding designs she’s had inked on her forehead.

They decided to go under the needle together.

Alexander’s tattoo artist Jacob Ramirez tatted on music executive’s forehead ‘10.10.19’ and ‘2.21.13’ on either side of a lightning bolt, in reference to his son Slash and Amber’s son Bash’s respective birth dates.

A recent post where Amber Rose referred to her boyfriend as “husband” has spark rumors of marriage between the two.

She referred to Alexander “AE” Edwards as “husband” while showing off a heartwarming handwritten note to which was delivered to her with a bouquet of flowers from Edwards, as The Blast reports^[22]
