On February 24th, 5:00 am, the Rankin County Sheriff’s Department received a call from a woman saying she was shot in the leg while jogging by someone driving in a white SUV on Castlewoods Blvd in Brandon, Mississippi.
Later in the afternoon, Heather Robinson was found dead in her apartment located at Vineyards Apartments off of Vine Drive near Castlewood’s. Her white SUV, a 2012 GMC Arcadia with a Mississippi Nurses Foundation tag, was not in her driveway. Heather was the girlfriend of Alex Deaton.
Due to the physical description, the description of the white SUV missing from the deceased victim, the proximity of the two incidents, and physical evidence collected at the Castlewood’s Boulevard shooting, Deaton is sought as the primary suspect and warrants are being issued for him.
In addition, Deaton is a person of great interest in the death of Brenda Pinter, who was found dead in her office at the Dixon Baptist Church.
Alex Deaton is wanted for first-degree murder and aggravated assault. He was reported to be in Tulsa, Oklahoma, but was last reported to be involved in a Car jacking in New Mexico. Deaton abandoned the GMC Arcadia in Albuquerque, NM and stole a couple's honda passenger vehicle, shooting the man in the process. A total of $32,500 is being offered for information leading up to his capture.
