Controversy
2018
In September 2018, YouTuber Deji posted a video mocking Lauren and Alex's "we broke up…" video where they announced their split to their fans.
He claimed that Lauren and Alex probably did not even split and that they were just doing it for views and money.[7]
Burriss took to Twitter and threatened to "end" Deji if he talked about Lauren again:
"yo @deji.
make all the desperate for views vids u want about me but if u even speak laurens name again I’ll end u. not a threat bruv it’s a promise.
say one more thing about us & next time I see u Im knocking ur pathetic untalented a– out.
stay in ur bros shadow where u belong."[7]
Deji fired back:
"Lauren finally realised what a waste of space you truely are.
Lauren can now finally grow as a better person now that she's away from you.
Lauren is finally out to get some better dick haha.
Lauren, Lauren…Lauren."[7]
Lauren chimed in:
"Hey @Deji I don’t know you and/or give a flying f about your life, so keep my name and my relationship out of your mouth and pathetically desperate videos.
You know NOTHING about the circumstances of the break up so move along and make some original content."[7]
Alex later made a second video addressing the breakup on his channel, where he made it clear to fans he doesn’t want to see them choosing sides or sending hateful comments to Lauren.
he said:
"This was a mutual breakup, we had a mature conversation and we still love each other."[7]
2019
KSI got into a fight on Twitter with Wassabi after he was accused of faking drama to get more views. Alex was one of the six YouTubers who fans could vote forto decide who KSI would face in the ring next, but he later agreed a two-match deal to fight Logan Paul instead.
Alex Wassabi finished bottom of the poll but it did not stopped him coming after KSI and his brother Deji.
He tweeted:
"YouTubers that see fans in public then purposely get their attention just so they can vlog running away from them… really bro?"[9]
He then uploaded a video calling out KSI’s brother Deji after he challenged him to a fight and accused them of creating fake drama to mislead viewers and get more views.
KSI then offered to fly Alex over to the UK so that the two of them could meet in the ring .
Alex then responded by hinting that he was happy to fly to the UK and would win a boxing fight against KSI.
KSI then responded saying the following:
"Whenever you want to see me, the result will be the same.
You will end up on the floor."[9]
In 2019, Wassabi sparred with YouTuber Fouseytube and lost.
KSI openly mocked Wassabi for getting KO’d in a savage video even asking his viewers to spam the clown emoji underneath Wassabi’s social media posts.
He chuckled:
"You always find a new way to make me laugh....he couldn’t even beat Fouseytube.
It’s a shame, because Alex actually did alright!...but god damn, one punch from Fousey and he’s dropped!"[10]
KSI even tagged Wassabi in a tweet shortly after uploading his video, simply posting the clown emoji.[10]
