Alejandra Villanueva Ibarra was an 18-year-old college student who resided in Denver, Colorado. She originally hails from Houston, Texas. She is remembered for being dedicated to her family and caring for her ill mother.
Death
On January 16, 2017, Ibarra fell and was trampled to death after screaming concertgoers were attempting to flee gunfire at the Blue Parrot nightclub venue during the electronic dance music BPM Festival.
Shortly before 3:00 a.m., an unidentified lone gunman tried to enter the nightclub with a handgun. He was denied access and began to exchange fire with security. Other festival security personnel tried to stop the shooting and came under fire.
Alejandra Villanueva Ibarra and four others were killed as a result of the shooting. Her family has set up a GoFundMe to help with funeral costs.
