On December 10, 2016, Miller and Kevin Fowler were arrested on child abuse charges after their twin infants were found looking like skeletons and suffering from gruesome infections. ^{[0] [1]}

Miller told police that she and her husband didn't have experience taking care of babies, which is why their health was so poor.
