According to Ager's brother, Jag Jamil, posted on Facebook that his brother really loved his ex-girlfriend, Melinda. She met everyone in the family and would often be present at the numerous meetings they had. [undefined]
Ager and Melinda dated for over a year, and the two would do a lot of things together.
They eventually took a break.
When they decided to give their relationship another shot, Melinda became infuriated when Ager confessed to her that he had been with numerous women.

On April 28th, 2017, after the couple decided to see each other to discuss their romance and relationship, the two had an intense argument that turned into a fight as well.
Ager had confessed Melinda that he had been with several women during their discussion.
Melinda could not contain her anger out of a furious impulse grabbed a knife that was nearby and began swinging it at Ager, who tries to stop her.
In the process of trying to stop her, he grabs another knife and manages to stab her.
Numerous times.
Ager allegedly fled the scene and hadn't been seen since.
He drove his car out of the country with only $200 in his pocket.
He says that he had to leave in order to piece together and reflect on his actions.
He was last seen on April 28 stealing a license plate in the parking lot of a Walmart in Erie County, Pennsylvania, to replace the Ontario plate on his black, 2016 Honda.

A few days after the murder was covered in the news and Ager was announced to be a prime suspects and wanted for questioning, Ager took to the Reddit thread that was created about the murder and wrote a detailed confession. The Reddit Username was

He writes: "The amount of regret and sadness is beyond words.
Everyone else is just reading or talking about it.
I lived it, I was there.
I did it."
The following is an excerpt of what he wrote on Reddit:
"She started freaking out.
Wouldn't say a word and just kept slapping me with tears in her eyes.
Slaps turned into hits.
I told her I was sorry but if she didn't stop I'd do something back.
She didn't stop.
I then stupidly pushed her, harder than I expected.
She fell against the sink.
Almost out no where she grabs a knife by the sink.
Initially I thought [she] was just going to hold it to try and tell me to leave.
She doesn't.
She comes at me in The Reddit confession post. full force, aiming towards my face,' the Reddit post states. I tell her to stop. She doesn't, I tried grabbing the knife but ended up cutting my hands. After a few cuts I lost it. I freaked out, I was scared and in a state of shock. Never in a hundred years did I think she would use a knife against me. Out of shock and fear I grab one. I hit her with it, almost blindly. A few times. I didn't know what happened. I was confused, shocked and scared." [undefined]
Hasan is wanted for second-degree murder and three counts of breach of recognizance.
