Plot
Gestapo officials, including Major Krieger, at Belgrade airport greet Doctor Grote, one of Abwher's top officials and master spies who is to provide them assistance in intelligence and counter-intelligence operations.
Doctor Grote has spent some time in Serbia before the war and speaks Serbian fluently.
Krieger, like other Gestapo men, don't like him and talks behind his back as one of Admiral Canaris' men, whom hard core Nazis consider traitor.
Two Gestapo prisoners - Jovan and Ivan Garić - are awaiting execution.
Ivan talks about his girlfriend Dana, who is daughter of gymnasium headmaster.
Soon afterwards they are brought in front of firing squad and yell Communist and antifascist slogans before they are shot.
However, only Ivan is shot by real bullets.
Jovan gets up and finishes a slogan, much to amusement of Doctor Grote who was witnessing the execution.
It turns out that Jovan is actually Hans, German operative who speaks fluent Serbian and tries to pass as German prisoner.
Dana is devastated by Ivan's death and want to stay in Belgrade, but Tihi convinces her that she should leave and join Partisans. In the meantime, Grote in civillians clothes visits the watchmaker who awaits courier from Istanbul, his contact with Office of Strategic Services, American intelligence agency. Grote apparently tries to start negotiations between Americans and some circles in Berlin. The shop has been surveilled by Krieger, but when SS soldier come to arrest watchmaker and courier, gunfight ensues in which both men die, taking away all the evidence against Grote and forcing Krieger to make another plan to eliminate Abwher man.
"Jovan" is relased from German truck near Dana father's house and immediately finds shelter there.
Dana's father gets in touch with Mrki and Tihi who take Jovan to Marija's apartment.
Jovan tells convincing story about his identity of captured Partisan, and its details are later confirmed by Partisan headquarters via Joca's radio.
"Jovan" tries to convince Prle to let him stretch legs outside the apartment, but Prle, despite Joca's apparent willingness, doesn't let him.
Marija went with Krieger to a night club, where she met Grote, who had invited both of them to his villa.
Krieger uses this as an opportunity against Grote and recruits Marija to help him; she is to enter Grote's office, open window and allow Krűger operatives to enter and take compromising documents.
Tihi later tells her to take this mission because this is an opportinity to see some of those documents herself.
Marija arrives to villa and goes to Grote's office where she sees documents with "Jovan" photographed as German officer named Hans.
Before she leaves the room she gets attacked by Grote's aide Lieutenant Lipke who nearly strangles her before he is stabbed by some of Krieger's men.
Both she and Krieger leave, with Krieger reluctanly allowing her to go home by herself and later explains his men that she must be kept alive because she could be useful in the future.
When Krieger return to arrest Grote he finds that he committed suicide.
Visibly shaken Marija tells Mrki and Tihi about impostor, but Tihi decides to go with original plan.
The only difference is that Joca will contact Partisan headquarters and tell them about impostor's true identity in order for Partisans to provide "warm welcome".
Prle tells that he deep inside knew that "Jovan" was impostor and that makes Joca mad.
