Afton attended Wake Forest University where she earned a degrees in Neuroscience and Business & Entrepreneurship.
Career
Aftib was a Co-Founder of Kera10 (now Virtue Labs in 2009 where she discovered the core technology and cosmeceutical applications of keratin for use in human hair regeneration and went on to raise $30M.
She worked in Private Equity at the $800M healthcare-focused fund Great Point Partners and led investment identification, sector analysis, diligence, modeling, returns analysis, deal execution and M&A/business development for portfolio companies.
For a year, Afton was a Board Observer at ARIS Teleradiology.
In 2013, Afton became the Head of Product and Operations at Autism Acumen, a a digital health startup enabling patients and physicians to better manage chronic neurological disorders through the capture and analysis of patient video.
It received funding from Versant Ventures, TPG, and Rock Health.
Afton was a Strategy and Finance Consultant at Willow Pump and served in a consulting capacity.
She was a Product Manager at 23andMe and helped relaunch the brand after it was shut down by the FDA.
In November 2016, Afton became Co-Founder and CEO of Modern Fertility, a women's health company focused on making fertility information more accessible for women everywhere.
