Jimmy Blythe, better known as AFK, is a DJ and electronic music producer from Dallas . He produces music that is categorized as dubstep and heavy bass.^[0]

Blythe grew up in Dallas, Texas.

He started going to electro-house shows in 2007 when he was 17 and started exploring EDM.

A turning point happened when he saw 16bit in 2009 play, which inspired Blythe to pursue dubstep.^[7] He has been producing music full-time since 2010 and would release a number of EPs off Firepower Records . Blythe would also release music from labels such as Bassrush Records and Buygore.

Some of his inspirations for his sound include System of a Down, Goo Goo Dolls, and NSYNC . Dubstep-wise, his influences are Rusko and Doctor P. Outside of music, he is inspired by anime, video games, and his cat.^{[9] [7] [8]}

Throughout his career, AFK has played shows and on tours with Getter , Rusko, and Borgore . More recently, he became a frequent collaborator with SVDDEN DEATH . In 2018, they released "BZZRK" together and performed a number of B2Bs such as at EDC Las Vegas.^[5] AFK plans to release a new EP in 2019.
