Early Life
His mother was a former producer and director of medical videos.
Career
He had always been interested in acting.
He moved to the United Kingdom where he spent 10 years where he trained and acted in several television and films.[5]
He soon returned back to Toronto where he began intensive acting, due to his incredibly accents, skills and talent he got cast in his first movie.
He voiced the role of the original Nightcrawler in the animated X-men classic series.
He then played the role Jean Grey's father in 'X-Men 3' in 2006.
He became the first actor to have both a voiced role and be cast in the X-Men series.
He also became famous in the gaming world as he played the role of Haytham Kenway in Assassin's Creed III and Assassin's Creed Rogue. Due to his flawless accent and how he worked tremendously he got nominated for a British Academy of Film and Television Arts.
He has also appeared in movies like X-Men: The Last Stand, The Fog, Underworld: Evolution and Rise of the Planet of the Apes.

Relationship Status
He is currently single but was previously married to Marina Darling.
Marina is a former British talent agent.
The two first met in London at a play in 1985, he was part of the show while she came to watch along with her friends.
After they spoke to each other that night they became friends and soon enough started dating.
The tied the knot on January 10, 1987 and after 30 years of being married they called it off.
They have three kids together Sophie Hough, Emily Hough, and William Hough.
His daughters have described him as a good father and fans were sad when they heard about their divorce.
He lives in an ocean-side island home with his kids and try's his best to protect old growth forests.
His eldest child acted in Intelligence as a child actor.
Personal Life
He speaks fluent french as he learnt it as an exchange student in Quebec. He won the Athlète de l'Année prize after the Rimouski High School basketball team won.
He enjoys swimming in his Island home as it keeps him sane all yearlong.
In 2013, his father died 10 days after he got nominated for the British Academy of Film and Television Arts.
