Adrian Ballinger and Cory Richards

Adrian Ballinger is a world class mountaineer, skier, business leader, and professional speaker.

As a professional athlete first and foremost, Adrian is the only American who has skied two 8,000 meter peaks, was the first person to ski Manaslu, the 8th tallest mountain in the world, and in 2011 became the first person to summit three 8,000 meter peaks in only 3 weeks (Everest twice and Lhotse once).

He is the only American guide to have both AMGA/IFMGA guide’s certifications and has achieved more than 10 summits of 8,000 meter peaks (including 6 summits of Mt.

Everest).

A climber and visual storyteller, Cory Richards was named National Geographic Adventurer of the Year in 2012.

His camera has taken him from the controlled and complex studio to the wild and remote corners of the world, from the unclimbed peaks of Antarctica to the Himalaya of Nepal and Pakistan—all in an attempt to capture not only the soul of adventure and exploration but also the beauty inherent in our modern society.

Richards is a passionate mountain climber on the Eddie Bauer athletic team and has carved a niche as one of the world's leading adventure and expedition photographers.

His photography has appeared in National Geographic Magazine, Outside, and the New York Times, and his film work has won awards at nearly every major adventure film festival, including the grand prize at the Banff Mountain Film Festival.

The two accomplished climbers are attempting something new on the tallest mountain in the world; they are sharing their entire journey as it happens on Snapchat, a popular mobile app where they are posting under the username, EverestNoFilter.

A group of climbers has reached the summit of Mount Everest for the first time since the 2014 earthquakes and avalanches devastated Nepal and blocked off access to the world’s highest peak.
