Adina Appelbaum is a Senior Immigration Attorney at Capital Area Immigrants' Rights (CAIR) Coalition.  She is based in Washington D.C.  Adina was selected to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list in 2017 for the Law & Policy Category. 
Adina attended Washington University in St. Louis where she was apart of The Roosevelt Institute and Sigma Iota Rho International Studies Honor Society.  She wrote her Senior Honors Thesis on Us.s Refugee Policy on the Implications for the Iraqi Refugee Crisis.  Adina studied abroad at the University of Oxford where she took classes about Middle East Politics & Migration Policy.  She graduated magna cum laude with a degree in International Area Studies and Urban Studies in 2010. 
Adina completed graduate coursework at the Center for Forced Migration and Refugee Studies at The American University in Cairo as a Fullbright Scholar .  She later earned her J.D. specializing in Immigration and International Lew and Certificate in Refugees & Humanitarian Emergencies as well as her M.P.P. in International Policy and Development from Georgetown University in 2015. 
Early in her career, Adina worked in various capacities for Saint Andrew's Refugee Services, UNHCR, and Asylum Access.  She was a Law Clerk for various organizations including the American Bar Association , Conrad & Scherer, and Capital Area Immigrants' Rights Coalition.  Adina is currently the Senior Attorney at the Immigration Impact Lab at he Capital Area Immigrants' Rights Coalition where she spearheads impact litigation with the goal of improving the law and due process protections for large groups of immigrants.
