Adidas Mummy
A mummy that was found in Mongolia, which is said to have been buried around the 6th century AD.
Discovery
In April 2016, scientists unearthed the 1,500-year-old remains of a woman’s hands and feet high up in the Altai Mountains.
The mummy, thought to be a native Turkic female, is estimated to be over 1,500 years old.
Its discovery was prompted after local herdsman stumbled across the grave and alerted the Khovd Museum.
Along with the shoes, the mummy’s grave also contained a bundle of everyday objects, the remains of an entire horse, its saddle and four finely woven pieces of clothing.
The shoes still worn on the mummy resembled the brand of Adidas footwear.
