Shabani was born in Macedonia. She studied Business Administration at the American University of Paris. ^[9]

She was a student at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting. ^[6]

She was romantically involved with Christopher Spotz. ^[10]

Shabani disappeared on Friday February 23, 2018, under suspicious circumstances. Shabani vanished after leaving her residence in the Duet apartments at 1745 N. Wilcox Ave. around 11:00 a.m. that day. Friends stated she left the front door unlocked. ^{[11] [12]}

Shabani left her apartment with Christopher Spotz. The pair were caught by security cameras in her building elevator—both were wearing baseball caps and Shabani was carrying two pieces of luggage. She sent her last text about that time, asking a friend where she could buy red candles. That was the last anyone heard from her.^[21]

On Tuesday March 27, 2018, her body was discovered along a creek in the Spenceville Wildlife in a shallow grave in a vast nature reserve in Nevada County, about 20 miles northeast of Sacramento. ^{[14] [10]}

To date, no one has been prosecuted for Adea Shabani's murder.^[21]
