Adam Skokut was an 18-year-old from Smithton, Pennsylvania.

Adam was born and raised in Smithton and went on to attend Yough Senior High School; he graduated in 2016. Adam helped his father with DIY projects and was interested in Metal detectors. Adam is remembered for his kindness and for being an all-around good person. ^[3]

On February 22nd, Adam was working with his father to install a septic line, when the trench he was working in collapsed; The trench he was working in was about 10 feet deep.

The incident happened on Fitz Henry Road in South Huntingdon Township, PA. Firefighters said that there were not any trench boxes to stabilize the dirt and that the ground was so heavy and saturated that it would have been nearly impossible to survive. ^[3]
