The first official single of Adam Melchor was released in 2017, he’s not a stranger to music. He formed a band in Brooklyn after graduating with a degree in opera, performing with them until they decided to move to Nashville with Melchor choosing to live in the Big Apple. He dedicated his time to writing and making demos, instead. Finally a producer in Los Angeles (L.A) picked up one of those demos, which is where his journey really kicked off.
Two EP’s and a handful of singles later, Adam Melchor is at the top of his game.
His 2018 release, “Real Estate” is nearing 3 million streams on Spotify, while “Metadata” was spun on Kendall Jenner’s Apple Music radio show. Melchor offers chilled out, often layered vocals conveying deeply personal and vulnerable stories of his childhood and personal life. [4]
Melchor released his newest single**"Joyride"** on July 18, the follow-up to March's Plan On You EP. Melchor explained the context behind the song in a press release, stating that "about letting things go for the better." He went on to describe how the lyrics related to the divorce of his parents, and seeking the silver lining in adversity.
Melchor will join Rodrigo y Gabriella on tour for the rest of this month, making stops in California, Nevada and Colorado.

The Archer / Debut EP
In his debut EP The Archer, Adam weaves intensely personal lyrics with colloquial melody to create a vivid yet vulnerable narrative.
Carried by his folk guitar playing and powerful voice, the songs show a remarkable musical sensitivity for an artist of Adam‘s age.
His appearance on stage is just the right combination of modest and optimistic.
The songs he wrote deserve the confidence and he performs them with great precision and polish.
His thoughts and observations on brand new The Archer EP give a peek into the most terrifyingly intimate parts of life, and whether you listen to learning or not, you'll always take away some nugget of wisdom from his songs. Vibrant and enthusiastic, The Archer is the perfect introduction to a new, intrepid artist.
Inside The Archer
Adam explained his reason why he wrote each track of his song titled "inside the The Archer:[5]
Don’t Invest In Me
I’ve always had trouble maintaining meaningful relationships and it’s something I need to actively work on. Keeping up is caring, and showing that you care isn’t always easy. This song is a discussion on keeping up. It feels like a disclaimer of self worth, or the lack thereof.
Brook Revisited
The song was written about one of my best friends who passed away from an opioid overdose after years of abuse. It inspired me to reconnect with my childhood best friend, Brook, who moved away at a young age and always reminded me of my friend. After 15 years of separation, I was able to find Brook and the spirit that brought us together.
The Archer
This song is the most genuine image of missing someone that I could come up with. Losing the people you love will never not be the worst thing, and the only way of healing for me has been time. There is a plethora of images, colors, feelings, etc. when you lose someone. This goes deeper into that psyche. The image of the archer is to go deeper into how we treat people, and how we use the same tactics that affect us to reciprocate onto others.
More Than Anything
The bravery of asking for help has always been a side note for me.
Asking for help is usually the last thing to do, the final step, when it should really be the first.
This song is about a friend who asked me for help.
It follows a timeline, and in the end when the person finally left my life, I found that I needed him just as much as he needed me in that moment.
Past Hound
I’ve always been interested in the Amazon for some reason, and in my reading found this term, Pororoca.
It’s the name of a tidal bore in the Amazon River which translates to “Great Roar”.
It is a phenomenon where the very river that gives life to the community around it, takes from the community.
It has a loud roaring effect, and after it hits the land and destroys whatever is in its path, there is always a moment of silent, calm remorse.
When the people hear this silence, they know they’ve survived another year of the Pororoca.
This term ignited this moment of loss.
It details the day that I lost someone very important to me, and how it pulls you in so many emotional directions.
