Slater is an American D.J. based in Los Angeles, California. He derives his name from the Saved by the Bell character, A.C. Slater.

Slater started out playing Happy hardcore and had a small label in the early 2000's. He states that his experiences helped prepare him for the rest of his career. In the late 2000s, A.C. Slater gained traction on the blog scene and subsequently released music under the labels Trouble & Bass and his own outfit, Party Like Us.

Slater has toured around the world with Skrillex and Diplo and his guest mixes can regularly be heard on major radio stations across the world, including the UK’s BBC Radio 1 and Rinse FM and Australia’s Triple J.

Slater calls his style of music "Night Bass" which he describes as a middle ground between crazy EDM festivals and the purist house scene.
