Aaron van Wirdum's background is in journalism. When he was a freelancer, he wanted to write a story about Bitcoin and get published on a notable news publisher; he initially thought of Bitcoin as an anonymous version of PayPal.[+] He eventually started his own personal blog in 2013, writing Bitcoin articles and debunking myths about the cryptocurrency and the blockchain space.
Since 2015, van Wirdum has been a technical editor for Bitcoin Magazine . There, he discusses the value propositions of Bitcoin and its further developments. He has also gained interest of other related subjects, including decentralized consensus, FOSS, Internet privacy in the Information Age, and censorship-resistant payments.
