History

Sydney Rae White and Rob Kendrick are both actors, [1] [2] and have appeared in several theatre productions, television shows, and films. They met on the set of the musical QUADROPHENIA in London, which also featured Pete Townshend. Sydney and Cam, who are brother and sister, invited Rob to play with them when a previous band came to a standstill. [3] Cam was born deaf, but has played music extensively throughout his life and is a multi-instrumentalist. He continues to produce all of The Wild Things’ music. [4]

Sydney and Rob live together in West London, where Sydney and Cam were born and raised.

The band continues to record in a studio they built in the basement of Sydney and Cam’s fathers “art deco ‘caste’.

In 2015, the band released their first EP titled “You Know That New Sound You’ve Been Looking For?”.

On May 26, 2016, the band released the track Devil’s Witness from an upcoming EP titled “The Devil’s Witness EP”.

[5]

Musical style

Pulling from early influences as wide as the Beach Boys and Foo Fighters by way of a Weezer pop-tinged lean, the band’s recent output has seen them pull in a rockier, dirtier vibe recalling The Smashing Pumpkins and Band of Skulls via Wolf Alice.

Production

Cam White, the lead songwriter and band's producer, began to experiment with production whilst making demo tapes for The Wild Things amongst other projects.

He uses recording techniques from Brian Wilson, Phil Spector & Harry Nilsson to create their sound.
