Teenmaar Mallanna

Chintapandu Naveen Kumar (born 17 January 1982) popularly known by his TV characters name as Teenmaar Mallanna is an Indian journalist and television director and actor. He became popular for his character as a villager in Telugu news channel, V6 News satirical news program, Teenmaar News. He became very popular in a short time because of his unique Telangana dialect.

Early life

He was born in a poor family in Madhapur village, Bhongir in Nalgonda district to Chintapandu Bagaiah and Jaanamma. His father ran milk business. He went to ZPHS, Madhapur and worked as a paper boy during his school days. He also worked as an electrician for some time after taking a break in his education because of financial difficulties in the family. He did his M.A. in Political Science at Osmania University and also completed MBA.

Career

He started as a journalist working in a vernacular daily in 2002 with Andhra Prabha, and then worked in Andhra Bhoomi and TV channels like I-News, NTV, GEMINI and joined V6 news in October 2011. He was the 2nd reporter to be hired by them.

Teenmaar News

In 2012, he started directing and acting in a daily satirical news show, Teenmaar News on V6 News channel. The daily show became a huge hit among its viewers in a short time. He was the creative head behind the hugely popular show.

He also interviewed major politicians and personalities in Telangana region in his popular Teenamaar Mallanna get up.

Political career

He is contesting in 2015 MLC elections from Khammam, Nalgonda and Warangal Graduates constituency as an Indian National Congress candidate. He initially entered as independent candidate but later decided to contest on congress ticket after being offered a seat. He lost in the elections.
