StackAdapt is a Programmatic Native Advertising Platform that helps Fortune 500 brands and agencies reach new audiences through the distribution of branded content.

History

The privately-owned company was founded in Toronto, Ontario in 2013 by Ildar Shar (CEO), Yang Han (CTO), and Vitaly Pecherskiy (COO).

In January 2016, StackAdapt was named one of "Canada's Top 10 Marketing Tech Startups Set to Blow Up in 2016."

Financing

In September 2014, StackAdapt received a seed round of $900K from IAF (Investment Accelerator Fund), Slaight Communications, in addition to debt financing from BDC (Business Development Bank of Canada) to fuel growth.

In January 2016, StackAdapt received an additional $1Million in Series A funding, which was led by Plaza Ventures, a Toronto-based VC firm.

Product

In April 2016, StackAdapt became the first native advertising platform to offer engagement-based pricing, which allows advertisers to pay only when the user reads the content post-click for 15 seconds or longer.
