Regulation
The company is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority in the UK [2] and the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority in Germany. [3]
Founders
Scalable Capital was founded by Erik Podzuweit, Florian Prucker, Adam French, Patrick Pöschl (all formerly with Goldman Sachs) and the financial econometrician Stefan Mittnik. [4]
Technology
The company sets up and manages risk-tailored ETF portfolios that comprise the asset classes equities, bonds, commodities, and real estate. Employing proprietary technology, forward-looking risk projections are used to assess the risk of clients' portfolios, with risk being measured in terms of value-at-risk (VaR) at the 95% confidence level. Instead of targeting fixed portfolio weights, Scalable Capital rebalances portfolios when their projected VaR is not in line with a client’s chosen VaR level. [5]
Funding
In April 2016 Scalable Capital raised €7 million in a Series A funding round, bringing its total founding to €11 million.
