Ryo Hitomi (Japanese:瞳 リョウ, Hepburn:Hitomi Ryo, born September 21, 1975) is a Japanese AV idol, gravure model, singer, author and television personality.

Born in Tokyo, ^[18] after some experiences as a gravure model, ^[6] Hitomi started her adult career with the video Sensational breast commotion released in January 1996 by Atlas21. ^[1] She continued appearing in several AVs for Atlas21 for over a year and then worked with a number of other studios. ^[7] In December 1998 she was the inaugural actress in Idea Pocket's series of "Angel" videos. ^{[13] [5]}

During this time she also appeared on several TV programs, including being a semi-regular in the TV Tokyo late-night variety show *Gilgamesh Night *, ^[18] and in the Nippon Television comedy show Super Jockey. ^[18] In another mainstream venue, Hitomi had a role in the 1997 direct-to-video V-cinema horror feature *Kyuketsu Onsen e Yokoso *, starring Aya Sugimoto. ^[9] In 1998 she released a CD together with the AV idol Yuki Tsukamoto. ^{[18] [6]} Hitomi also performed in the yakuza action comedy Break Heat released to theaters in February 1998. ^[15] In 2000 Hitomi published an autobiography in which she described her male phobia, the relations with her parents and her experience in the adult industry. ^[18] Hitomi retired from show business in 2001, ^[6] and she later worked in a cabaret club in Ginza and in the beauty industry. ^[18]

After a 12 years hiatus, at age thirty-seven, she rejoined the adult industry in January 2013 with an "image" (non-sex) video, Come Back 12 Years Racing Legend: Ryo Hitomi, for the Madonna studio which specializes in "mature" actresses. ^{[18] [6] [2]} Two months later, Hitomi performed in a video for the AV studio Rookie, Ryo Hitomi Back to AV, marking her return to hardcore AVs. ^{[8] [12]}
