She also designed costumes for the 40th Academy Awards on April 10, 1968, and Lawrence Welk's TV Treasures on PBS in 2007. Since 1989, PBS has rebroadcast Welk programs over many years, principally since color episodes were taped. [2] In 1969, Weiss handled the wardrobes for Bob Hope's tour of the Far East and Southeast Asia to entertain the American troops. [3]

Until his death in 2012, she was married to the Jewish businessman Bernard "Bernie" Berman, who was born in 1927 in Minnesota, Minnesota and served in the United States Navy.
