Proteintech Group is a multinational biotechnology company with offices based in Chicago, Europe (Manchester, UK) and China (Wuhan). Founded as a start-up company in Chicago in 2002, it supplies polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies to the medical and life science research community.

Proteintech produces all of its antibodies therefore does not ‘resell’ antibodies, i.e. it does not source its antibodies from other companies.

Proteintech currently have 11,000 pre-made primary antibodies for sale.

Proteintech antibodies used in research

Proteintech Group’s antibodies have been successful in several research areas.

For example, the antibody against TAR DNA-binding protein 43 has featured in many publications investigating its role in many neuropathologies including: ALS, FTLD, Alzheimer's disease,. Parkinson's disease Lewy body disease Huntington's Disease and Machado-Joseph disease Proteintech was also the first company to provide a commercially available FKBPL antibody. This has been most notably used in a study to determine the response of breast cancer patients to the drug Tamoxifen.
