Early life
Nandi was born in Calcutta, India, and his family emigrated to the United States when he was a child. Nandi graduated from high school at the age of sixteen, having lived in Columbus, Ohio. He attended the Ohio State University and graduated with a degree in Chemistry, minoring in Classic Greek Civilization. He was also a Rhodes Scholar Representative. Nandi then attended medical school at Wayne State University, after which he completed his gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. [1] [2]

Medical career
Nandi is a gastroenterologist and internal medicine practitioner at Troy Gastroenterology PC.
[3] He is also a clinical assistant professor at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine. [4] As a physician he has partnered for projects with the Ministry of Health in the nations of Jamaica and India, as well as The World Health Organization. [2]
Ask Dr. Nandi
Nandi is the host of the syndicated television lifestyle talk show Ask Dr. Nandi, which airs on The Impact Network (seen on Dish Network and other distributors), [3] reaching about 85 million viewers in 79 countries. According to *The Oakland Press *, the show “combines medical advice with informal conversations about fitness and nutrition.” [5] The premiere of the show occurred in 2012, [6] and each episode features one expert and one local or celebrity guest who has experience with a particular affliction, who discuss the medical theme of the episode in-depth. [1] The show has also received tax incentive awards through the Michigan Film & Digital Media Office. The show has been produced in Farmington Hills. However in 2016, with the loss of the Michigan Film Incentives, Dr. Nandi discussed moving the production to another state. [7] The show is co-produced by Kali Nandi. [8]
