Michael R. "Mike" McCarthy (born August 27, 1951, Hancock, Iowa) is an American businessman. He is the co-founder and chairman of the McCarthy Group, LLC, and of McCarthy Capital Corporation,[1] an investment firm based in Omaha, Nebraska, which manages more than US$1 billion in assets. Election Systems & Software is a subsidiary of McCarthy Group, LLC.

McCarthy graduated from College of Saint Benedict/Saint John's University in Collegeville, Minnesota. In 1986 he co-founded McCarthy Group, LLC, with Rich Jarvis. He is responsible for the management of McCarthy Group and chairman of the underwriting committee. McCarthy was a director of HDR, Inc. [5] and Streck [6] .
McCarthy serves on the board of directors for several nonprofit community organizations. They include the Omaha Community Foundation [7] , Heritage Services, Inc., Joslyn Art Museum, and Creighton University.
