Michael Frederick"Mike"Marcotte (born February 10, 1971) is an American businessman, national and Colorado technology leader, and philanthropist.
He was the Global Chief Information Officer of EchoStar Corporation (a.k.a. Dish Network) and several other fortune 500 firms. He was one of the very first people ever, to serve as a Chief Digital Officer in a major global corporation. He has served as the CEO of several notable computer software companies. [1]
He's a two-time winner of NASA's engineering excellence award and the United States Air Force (USAF) engineering award. [2]
Considered to be one of the greatest cyber security intelligence executives in the United States, he is a top technology & cyber security advisor to the governor of the State of Colorado and various other public and private organizations. [3]
He is a member of the Board of Directors of the National Cybersecurity Intelligence Center (NCC).
He is also the chairman of the NCC's Rapid Response Center Board.
He is a Board Member of the Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT).
He is recognized as an innovator in OTT (over the top) video technologies. [6]
In 2010, he was named to the DBJ's 40 under forty award.
He is known to be a high time, very experienced pilot and one of the best amateur aerobatics pilots in the world.
Additionally; he is a racecar, supercar/hypercar enthusiast and a SCCA GT trained race car driver.
He completed high school at The Denver School for the Gifted (now the Logan School for Creative Learning) at the age of 14 and entered college at Bard College. [8]
