Lauren Layfield (born in Warwick, Warwickshire[1]) is an English television and radio presenter and journalist who works mainly for CBBC.
Career
Layfield is best known for presenting CBBC. She joined the live channel's continuity in September 2015, at the end of the one-off TV special Hacker's Birthday Bash: 30 Years of Children's BBC, going on to co-host design series, The Dengineers with Mark Wright. In April 2017, Wright left and was replaced with Joe Tracini.[2] The series is currently in its fourth series.
In January 2016, Layfield joined All Over the Place and became a co-host with Ed Petrie and other various presenters. Layfield has also made one-off appearances in game shows Ultimate Brain and Celebrity Mastermind and 4 appearances in the panel show The Dog Ate My Homework.
2017 saw Lauren become the new host of music show The Playlist interviewing the biggest names in pop including the likes of Craig David, The Vamps, Ella Eyre, Pixie Lott, Jonas Blue & Sigma.
She's also presented for Match of the Day spin-off show, MOTD Kickabout.
In July 2018, she began covering weekend shows on Capital FM.
Layfield has also written for the Top of the Pops magazine.[3]
On 7 January 2019, she took over the early breakfast show on Capital FM. Weekdays 4-6am.
