Early life and education

A native of Mon Louis Island, Alabama, Jenkins earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Spring Hill College in 1980 and graduated from the Stanford Executive Program from Stanford University's Graduate School of Business.[1]

Career

Between 1994 and 2010, she was a senior adviser, chief of staff, and chief operating officer of the Library of Congress.[2]

AARP

She was appointed CEO of AARP on September 1, 2014, having previously served as president of AARP's foundation from 2010 to 2013 and chief operating officer from 2013 to 2014.[2]
