Irfan Alam is the Founder and Chairman of SammaaN Foundation, India's largest company working towards organizing the rickshaw pulling and manufacturing sector, empowering rickshaw operators and their families to become self reliant and responsible citizens. [1] He is also the founder of SammaaN Women Association, which aims to empower socially descendant women through education, training and livelihood opportunities. He has also founded MATiNS Enterprise, which specializes in interactive outdoor advertising, marketing and portfolio (wealth) management. He holds the post of Executive Director, in TiE Patna Chapter.

Education
Irfan did his MDP from Indian Institute of Ahemdabad, where he met people like Prof Piyush Sinha and Prof Anil Kumar Gupta, who played a vital role to develop his idea. Irfan is also a Masters of Foreign Trade and a graduate in economics.
Awards and recognitions
Irfan won the title of Business Baazigar, India's first business based reality show, which was organized by Zee TV. He has given guest lectures and seminars at various universities, some of which include John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard Business School, Stanford University, Indian Institutes of Technology, Indian Institute of Management, Management Development Institute etc.
Irfan had been invited for Presidential Summit, 2010 at Washington by the US President Barack Obama. [1] He is the winner of Business World's "Most Promising Entrepreneur Award." He has been selected among "40 Youth icons of India" by India Today, "24 Youth icons of India" by India Today Aspire and "India's Best 30 Youths" by The Times of India. Featured in the The Guardian, London and The Economist, he is a finalist of TATA NEN "Hottest Startups Awards" and winner of World Bank Innovation Award. His case has been shared in the major universities across the globe.
Irfan was selected as an Ashoka Fellow in 2010.
