Hit Dem Folks

Hit Dem Folks

Hit Dem Folks is a popular dance move that rose to popularity and entered mainstream hip hop dance culture around 2015. The dance typically involves crossing the arms twice, raising them in a 'U' shape, and then bending them towards the center of the body. The dance is said to have originated from Columbus, Georgia, but its exact origins cannot be determined. Hitting dem folks was first popularized by black hip hop dancers, and later by athletes and other celebrities. It followed the decline of the whip and nae nae, and accompanied the rise of the dab.
