History
The station began airing on 1 June 2002, originally only broadcasting MTV Indonesia programs such as MTV Most Wanted, MTV Land, and MTV Ampuh. After four years as an MTV broadcaster, on 15 January 2005, Global TV began producing its own television programmes for its 12-hour broadcast. On 1 January 2005, it expanded its coverage area to 18 cities in Indonesia.
On 11 October 2017, Global TV was rebranded as GTV for its 15th anniversary.
Since November 2017 after the rebranding, GTV is no longer broadcast live sporting event and replaced them with the revived reality and game shows but GTV still shows sporting news program, called 100% Sports. In 2019 GTV shows live coverage of national E-Sports tournament.[1]
