Girish Mathrubootham (born March 29, 1975) is an Indian entrepreneur and angel investor.

He is the founder and CEO of Freshdesk Inc., a leading cloud-based customer engagement software provider. Girish studied engineering at SASTRA University, and did his MBA from Madras University.

Before starting Freshdesk, he worked at Zoho Corporation for close to a decade, and was the Vice President of Product Management of their ManageEngine division. He has managed several cross-functional teams, who have gone on to build world-class products. He founded Freshdesk in 2010 following a nightmarish customer experience from his personal life that involved shipping his TV from the USA to India. In October 2010, along with his then Technical Architect, Shan Krishnasamy, he quit Zoho and founded Freshdesk. Originally working out of a conference room inside a friend's office, they soon moved into a 700-sq-ft warehouse in the outskirts of Chennai with their own funds.

Girish picked Rajnikanth as his company’s unofficial mascot and he can be seen throughout the Freshdesk's office walls. Freshdesk is a Chennai based startup software development company, as arranged a special show for all its employees and booked entire shows at Sathyam Cinemas.

In addition, Girish is part of the team behind the NASSCOM Product Council, which works in promoting and nurturing product companies from India.

He is also an active member of iSpirt, actively advising the startup community in India about scaling, and building a global product company out of India.

Girish is married and lives with his wife and two children in Chennai, India.
