Erminia Mimi Guarneri, known widely as Mimi Guarneri, is an American cardiologist, scholar, author and leading proponent of integrative medicine. Newsmax has ranked her number six out of the top 100 physicians who embrace integrative medicine.
Mimi Guarneri is founding president of the Academy of Integrative Health and Medicine (AIHM) and past president of the American Board of Integrative Holistic Medicine (ABIHM).
She serves on the founding board of the American Board Physician Specialties in Integrative Medicine, and is a clinical associate professor at University of California, San Diego (UCSD).
She is founder and medical director of Guarneri Integrative Health, Inc., co-founder of Pacific Pearl La Jolla, a health, wellness and education center in California, and co-founder of the Scripps Center for Integrative Medicine in San Diego where she served as medical director for 15 years.
She helped create and continues to direct several national integrative medicine-based conferences in San Diego that draw thousands of healthcare providers from across the United States and globally. These annual conferences include the Natural Supplements Conference, the Integrative & Holistic Nursing Conference and the AIHM Annual Conference.
As author of “The Heart Speaks” and a pioneering integrative cardiologist, Mimi Guarneri’s work has been featured on television with NBC Today and PBS.
She is co-author of the book, “Total Engagement: The Healthcare Practitioner’s Guide to Heal Yourself, Your Patients & Your Practice,” published in 2014.
She also is the professor of The Great Courses series, “The Science of Natural Healing,” which presents 24 of her 30-minute lectures in a DVD format.
