Biography

Childhood and martial arts training

Danilo Rossi Lajolo di Cossano is a direct descendant of the family Lajolo of the Guelphs and Ghibellines. He is an Italian noble of the house of Lajolo and the son and nephew of the Counts Lajolo Cossano of Piedmont, Italy. At the age of six years he began the study of the martial arts with Judo, then Karate, and then with the disciplines of Southeast Asia. Since 2003 he is a certified instructor of Jeet Kune Do, Kali Arnis Escrima, and Pencak Silat Maltese. [1]

Italian arts

Additionally while still a child, his uncle drove him to the study of their families' regional arts; Pizzica Pugliese (wrongly known as sword dance/ danza delle spade), and scherma di coltello Gitana e Barabba Piemontesi.

With his passion for Italian culture, passed on to him by Count Clement Lajolo Cossano, during a period of 15 years he studied the traditional Italian martial arts from various regions throughout Italy.

In 2007 he created the World Calix Academy, with the aim of continued learning and the passing on of the Italian fighting styles taught to him by the Grand Masters of Italy's regional martial arts societies and families.

Currently the Calix World Academy has representatives in Russia, Ukraine, Italy, Australia, USA, Spain and England.

The school is certified and recognized by the Italian Federation of Martial Arts, the Italian Federation Martial Arts Olympic Committee, the WTKA, and the CISB.
