Cleveland Wheeler

Cleveland Wheeler is a radio disc jockey and air personality best known for his long run—13 years—in the Tampa Bay area on the west central coast of Florida and as co-creator of the Q Morning Zoo from 1980-84 on WRBQ-FM with Scott Shannon. After Shannon took a job in New York City, where he took the Morning Zoo concept to Z100, Wheeler was partnered with Terrence McKeever, followed by Jack Harris. According to RadioYears.com, Wheeler scored the highest Arbitron ratings in Tampa Bay radio morning drive history. [1]

Before arriving in Tampa in 1984, Wheeler worked as a DJ in numerous markets, including WMOC in his hometown, Daytona Beach’s WDAT (as Dave Randall) and WMFJ, Miami’s WQAM (as Paxton Quigley,), WAPE in Jacksonville,Florida, KUPD in Phoenix, KROY in Sacramento, WMAK in Nashville, and stations in Denver and Houston.

Wheeler is a graduate of Brainerd High School in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

He currently lives in Galveston Beach, Texas.
