History

Chint was founded in 1984 in the city of Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province, China.

Main product lines include: high, Medium and low voltage electrical apparatus, power transmission and distribution equipment, measuring meters and instruments, electrical products for construction, automation control devices and automobile applications.

In 2013, it was ranked 4th largest of the top 100 private companies in China by Forbes and as the largest power transmission and distribution/controlling devices corporation in the country.

Subsidiaries

Astronergy Solar [1] was founded in 2006 and is based in Hangzhou. Astronergy is one of the first in the world, and the first Chinese company, to bring mass production of second-generation amorphous silicon / microcrystalline silicon tandem junction thin film technology (a-Si/uc-Si) & PV Crystalline Modules to global market. Astronergy is led by a global management team with a half-century of experience in thin film research & development. In June 2009, it inaugurated its first 30 MW a-Si/uc-Si mass production TF line, and now has manufacturing capacity of 1.3 GW production of crystalline Modules in China & Germany

Chint T&D is a branch company of Chint Group, which is based in Shanghai and specialized in producing and marketing electric equipment in power transmission and distribution system.

Their distribution network for solar products covers over 38 distributors and wholesalers, across over 14 different countries.
