Early Life & Education
Her father Morris was a broadcaster for a local radio station and the union chairman for General Motors Saturn Division in Troy, Michigan. Her mother Freda worked sewing car seats for a living. She graduated in 1991 from Southgate Anderson High School, where she played basketball and was elected to the homecoming court. She landed her first big spokesperson/modeling job as Detroit’s Miss Autorama in 1993.

Amy Hayes has also announced boxing matches on Showtime and also been featured on the Best Damn Sports Show Period. Her biggest breakthrough was becoming the exclusive ring announcer on Fox Sport's Networks "Sunday Night Fights" series under promoter Dan Goosen of America Presents. She has done ring announcing for boxing cards promoted by Top Rank, Main Events, Don King Productions and Dibella Entertainment. She has done post-fight interviews with the fighters for the King of the Cage.
She announced the very first episode of ShoBox:The New Generation on Showtime. As of January 2020,she is an announcer at Carden Combat Sports.[29]
Fox Sports Net
Hayes became interested in boxing during her teen years, and after she landed her first job as a ring card girl she decided she wanted to become the world's first female ring announcer of major boxing promotions.
In 2001, Hayes began her career as a ring announcer after she signed a five year deal with Fox Sports Net.
She signed with Fox Sports Net, appeared with Fox & Friends with Brian Kilmeade on the Fox News Network and was seen frequently on The Best Damn Sports Show Period and The Howard Stern Show.

She worked as a disc jockey around the Detroit area, beginning at Radio X in Flint and moving to the popular WRIF rock station in Detroit. In 2005 and 2006 she worked for the AM station 980 in Dayton, Ohio by doing sports reporting. Since 2011, she has worked as a committee member for secretariat.com in Kentucky doing marketing and promotions.[2]
