Sophie Brussaux
Sophie Brussaux (born August 1, 1989), is a French artist and former pornographic actress who performed under the name Rosee Divine. She is best known as the mother of Canadian rapper Drake's son Adonis Graham. [8]
Career
Sophie's pornography primarily consists of solo acts of herself showing off her derriere or lingerie. She also stripper dances in her videos.
Sophie makes visual arts, primarily paintings.
Her work blends surrealism, symbolism and pop art to colorfully capture popular figures such as Frida Kahlo, the Obamas, Leonardo DiCaprio, Amy Winehouse and more. She met Pope Francis in November, 2019, to deliver his custom celebrity portrait at the Vatican. She wrote on Instagram:
"Such an honor to meet Pope Francis and gift him the portrait I painted for him in honor of his concert with and for the poor on Nov 9 2019. I used green, the color of hope, with red, the color designated by undp [United Nations Development Programme] to fight poverty."[16]
She serves as the founder and artistic director of Arts Help, a nonprofit that offers free master classes, partners with large institutions to develop pieces for social change, and publishes content from artists of all disciplines on all platforms.
Founded on the principle of art making the world a better place, Arts Help is the world's largest art publisher, with 2.5 million members.
In May 2019, UN-Habitat Global Advocate awarded Brussaux and her entire Arts Help team for their collaborative "Icons With a Purpose" exhibition at the Toronto Design Exchange Museum.[16]
Personal Life
Brussaux met Drake in January 2017.
The two chatted among a group of friends dining at a Japanese restaurant in Amsterdam on January 24, 2017, according to The Sun. This was around the time the rapper was rumored to be spending time with Jennifer Lopez.[16]
On May 3rd 2017, TMZ reported that Aubrey Drake Graham allegedly texted Sophie to have her child aborted after Sophie alerted him of the pregnancy. Sophie responded that she did not want to abort the child [3].
Sophie gave birth to a son she named Adonis on October 24th, 2017. This has become a topic of recent interest since Pusha T claim on his track "The Story of Adidon" that Drake is in fact the father of the child and has not publicly acknowledged it to maintain his image [5]. Since the track, Sophie has made her Instagram @sophieknowsbetter private [6]. Her Twitter has also been cleaned up of many tweets, including one where she calls Drake a "Deadbeat ass dad"[7].
It was not until nearly a year later that Drake acknowledged his son openly.
He emphasized that he kept silent about the situation for so long because he wasn't sure whether Brussaux's son was actually his baby or not — he opted to wait for the findings of a paternity test, prior to going public with the word.
Drake expressed in an interview, according to People:
"To be honest with you, I did a DNA test for my son and it came back to us and it said the DNA test got ruined in transit and they couldn’t be 100 percent sure that that was my son or not."[25]
On LeBron James' HBO series, The Shop, in October of 2018, Drake opened up about his situation with Brussaux. "I am a single father learning to communicate with a woman who, we’ve had our moments," the rapper explained. [25] He also said:
"I don’t ever want the world to be angry at his mother.
We have found ourselves in a situation and we are both equally responsible...No matter what happens, I have unconditional love for the mother of my child because I want him to love his mother and I have to project that energy."[25]
On March 30, 2020, Brussaux shared an Instagram post with photos of her 2-year-old son Adonis Graham. She captured it with the following text:
Thanking God everyday for blessing me with such a beautiful family and amazing friends.
I wish that much on everyone, keep safe and positive, sending a lot of positive vibes to the world.[26]
