At the 10-year mark of his professional career as a nationally touring musician and after 20 years of music in the making, comes the release of Jake Pyeatt's first solo album, set to drop in Summer 2014.

Jake is the son of Rodney Pyeatt and Rena Dearman, who met while performing with Tejano pop superstar Selena Quintanilla.

Jake is the middle of three brothers, who all grew up performing, writing and playing in bands together. His younger brother, Mitchell Pyeatt, is a founding member of New Braunfels-based band Midnight River Choir; and older brother Britton Pyeatt is currently touring with Stoneface Cowboys of Austin, Texas.

Jake started playing guitar at age 7 and wrote his first song at age 8. Though his father is a seasoned and accomplished guitarist/singer-songwriter, it was his mother, Rena, and late grandmother Wanda Pyeatt who taught him his first few chords.

"My mom taught me 'Wild Thing' and 'Stairway to Heaven'. She taught me the structure of power chords and what rock ‘n roll music encompassed. My grandmother introduced me to traditional country music." Jake said.

Jake also led the youth in music throughout grade school in church.

His influences include Merle Haggard, Keith Urban, Dann Huff, Darrell Abbott, John Mayer, B.B. King, Brad Paisley, Amos Lee and Soundgarden.

Jake has performed on many Texas music recordings including artists Gary Kyle, Austin Allsup, Rodney Pyeatt, Tyler James, Erick Willis, Whiskey Fish, Jaron Bell and Leland Williams. He has also written and co-written songs on albums such as "Welcome to Delerium¿" by Midnight River Choir; and "Sink or Swim" by Austin Allsup. [+]
