Gazzy Garcia (born August 17, 2000), known professionally by his stage name Lil Pump, is an American rapper, songwriter, and internet personality from Miami, Florida. He is best known for his songs, "D Rose", "Boss", "Elementary", "Lil Pump", and "Movin", which have each gained over millions of views on YouTube and SoundCloud. He was previously signed to Tha Lights Global, an imprint of Warner Bros Records from August 2017 to January 2018.
Garcia uploaded "Lil Pump" in early 2016 to SoundCloud, which has garnered over 9 million plays. Smokepurpp stated in an interview that he was the one that encouraged Lil Pump to start recording music, and made Pump record his first song. That song was "30's", which features Smokepurpp.
On September 19, 2017, Garcia's song "Gucci Gang", produced by Big Head, charted on the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 81. On September 25, 2017, Garcia tweeted the cover art and release date of his debut project, self-titled as "Lil Pump". It was released on October 6, 2017, via Tha Lights Global with distribution via Warner Bros Records.
Garcia began his first nationwide self-titled tour on October 31, 2017, in Los Angeles, playing at The Novo. The tour will cover 27 cities in total, including stops in Dallas, Houston, Miami, Atlanta, Philadelphia, New York City, Las Vegas, and will wrap up on December 23, 2017 in San Diego.
Social Media Presence
On his Snapchat and Instagram accounts, Lil Pump has posted stories of him receiving oral sex from female fans. He has also criticized Walmart several times on his Twitter account. Lil Pump also gained attention online for purchasing a yellow Porsche then crashing it the next day. His post about the crash was notable because it appeared to show that Pump was unconcerned about the large dent in the hood of his expensive, newly purchased vehicle.
He is also known for the meme ESKETIT (esskeetit).
Lil Pump is described as a "SoundCloud rapper" and his musical style as being lo-fi rap, and trap. Garcia's music contains lyrical themes regarding topics such as drug use, particularly xanax, hedonism, and repetitive catchy hooks over bass distortion raw energy of sound.
He and Smokepurpp perform together as Gucci Gang.
Lil Pump has come under fire for posting videos criticizing rapper J Cole. Pump also has apparently recorded a diss record aimed at J Cole. While the record has not been released, Pump posted a video of himself while playing snippets of the song. While Lil Pump did not state why he dislikes J Cole, he did seem to take offense to the fact that J Cole's music is more lyrically driven, as he expressed disdain for lyrically driven rap immediately after dissing Cole. So far, J Cole has not responded to the diss.
