Eric Neibaur lived in Pocatello, Idaho with his sister Lauren and his parents Bobbi and Eric Neibaur. Eric played football for Century High School's football team, while his sister was a cheerleader at the school. Eric was a practicing Christian who believed in the power of prayer to change things for the better.  
On June 18, 2017 Eric was driving with his sister Lauren when the car was westbound on Highway 30 in a Chevrolet pickup truck when he crossed the center line and hit a Chevrolet Suburban driven by Jay Lanningham. All three were killed in the crash, while a juvenile passenger in Lanningham's car was flown by air ambulance to Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello. The crash happened around 12:42 p.m. Sunday near milepost 360. Everyone involved in the crash were wearing seatbelts. All lanes of Highway 30 were shut down for about 5.5. hours. 
Century's head football coach, Travis Hobson who coached Eric, said,“We're still caught off guard by the news,” “Our heartfelt condolences go out to the Neibaur family and all those involved. Eric's football family is ready whenever his family needs us.” Counselors will be on hand at Century High School starting at 11 a.m. Monday.
