Dayounte, the incredible lyricist was actually born into rather unfortunate circumstances on September 7th 1994, in San Francisco, CA. He spent his early years in foster care but was eventually adopted in 2000 and moved to Sacramento, CA. Struggling heavily to find peace within himself, Dayounte was in and out of trouble at school, with the law, and at home throughout his adolescence. However being greatly influenced by R&B, Oldies, and Hip Hop, Dayounte found he has an amazing gift for music.
At the age of 16, Dayounte began writing lyrics relentlessly behind closed doors to express his emotions of confusion, anger, love and passion. After graduating from Mesa Verde High School in 2012, he would habitually impress his peers with his intoxicated 'freestyles'. In 2014 he became part of the local rap group, "The District", Dayounte then began recording songs, performing at local events and opening for headliners such as, "Too $hort, J. Stalin, D-Lo, and Andre Nickatina." At the end of 2014, Dayounte put his music career on hold for several months so he could spend time with his newborn daughter, Lyla.
"Warm'n Up", Dayounte's first and latest mix-tape, takes a new spin on innovation by including three amazing vocal verses and was released on Dec. 10th 2015 in honor of a passed friend. The Mix-tape has received nearly 5,000 streams online to date. "Smoke Good", the lead single, features Chippass from the NhT Boyz and has earned 2,500 streams alone. Since the beginning of 2015, Dayounte has been performing at local shows, hosting events, attending music industry forums, recording music and promoting his brand effectively. He is planning a regional tour for Summer of 2016 as well and is a full time student studying Music Business at American River College. How Does He Do It ?! [+]
