Early Life and Education
Yoder was born in Goshen, Indiana and was raised in Tanzania on the foothills of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Growing up, Yoder was surrounded by African Wildlife and was interested in Zoology. Yoder went on to the University Of Indiana and graduated with a degree in Photojournalism. After graduating, he worked for several newspapers before moving to Italy to freelance.
Career and Success
Yoder has achieved significant success for his photography. He has contributed to National Geographic, The New York Times, as well as other publications. Yoder is most interested in human-interest subjects and has worked on a variety of projects ranging from bounty hunters to a children’s circus. His photo essay on bounty hunters was exhibited at Visa pour l'image in Perpignan, France. In 2015, Dave had the opportunity to photograph the Pope and had full access to the Vatican, which resulted in 68,000 photos. Yoder's work has appeared in numerous publications including National Geographic Magazine, National Geographic Traveler, Gucci, Smithsonian, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Fortune Magazine, TIME Magazine, Newsweek, W magazine, WWD, Elle magazine, STMicroelectronics, and Bally.
