Daniel James Reisner is a Math Teacher for the West Central Community School District in Maynard, Iowa, a town of roughly 500 residents, is located about 43 miles northeast of Waterloo, Iowa. He was hired in 2017, according to Superintendent Fred Matlage. 
On Monday, April 10, 2018 Daniel Reisner was arrested after a sheriff's deputy determined he was teaching a high school class while drunk. 
The administration at West Central High School in Maynard called the sheriff's office after becoming concerned that Reisner might be under the influence of alcohol, according to a news release. 
A sheriff's deputy reported the teacher smelled slightly of alcohol and had watery eyes, according to court documents. He was transported to the Fayette County Jail where he submitted to a breath test that showed he had a blood alcohol content of .091. The legal limit to operate a motor vehicle in Iowa is .08. 
Reisner is suspended pending an investigation, according to Superintendent Fred Matlage.
