The Center for Research and Interdisciplinarity (CRI) aims to experiment and to spread new ways of learning, teaching, conducting research and mobilizing collective intelligence in life sciences, learning and digital sciences.
It was founded by biologists François Taddei and Ariel Lindner in 2005 and supported by the Bettencourt Schueller Foundation.
The undergraduate program “Frontiers in Life Science” was created in 2011 as interdisciplinary life science program, based on innovative pedagogical methods and learning through research.
Interdisciplinary Approaches to Life Sciences (AIV) Master
The AIV Master is an interdisciplinary two- year program tackling with quantitative approaches different interfaces with Life Sciences.
The aim of this master program is to train future teachers, researchers and entrepreneurs, to provide an understanding of the digital transformations happening in education and to help them design their projects.
The two master programs are co-hosted by Paris-Descartes University and Paris-Diderot University.
Doctoral program Frontiers of Life
The Frontiers of Life Doctoral School is an interdisciplinary program that promotes ambitious research projects involving interactions between a wide range of academic disciplines in the pursuit of understanding living systems, education, and discovery.
The CRI is creating collaborative research program to tackle the world’s health and education challenges, focusing on the following broad topics, amenable to bridge foundational research and societal impact:
Open synthetic and systems biology – from foundational understanding of living systems to open biotech and open pharma solutions.
Open AI – Understanding and shaping current digital transition in context of learning, health and/or human-machine paradigms.
Open health – from data-rich research to development of frugal software and hardware solutions.
Open learning – from understanding learning to human-machine paradigms
Open phronesis – tackling ethical challenges of our time.
Les Savanturiers – L’école de la Recherche
Les Savanturiers is a pedagogical approach which works for the implementation of education through research in classrooms, for pupils and teachers of primary school, secondary school and high school.
This event gathers researchers, hackers and education innovators to share their approaches and experience on building new ways to achieve better knowledge construction and transmission.
Dedicated to the advancement of games for science, education, and social change, the lab develops games in cooperation with educators and researchers following an iteration and prototyping process.
A studio to create MOOCs from writing to online.
